Empowerment

Empowerment and delegation are both very important to process within a criminal justice organization. Empowerment provides a law enforcement officer to believe in what they do, take action in any situation, and make changes to achieve the end results (Whisenand and Ferguson, 2009). This is something that any law enforcement officer can carry for the rest of their career. Empowerment is in its own a word that is making a breakthrough in the criminal justice system. Empowerment helps a law enforcement officer be more confident with not only himself or herself but most importantly with the decisions the job requires. Empowerment helps provide all law enforcement agencies with a sense of top qualified law enforcement officers in not only the city they work for but within the United States.

Delegation means leadership, which is very important within the criminal justice system. Upper management must not only know how to talk to street officer but also know how to give orders. Delegation provides a sense of security to all law enforcement officer within any police organization. According to Whisenand and Ferguson (2009), "Delegation is required now more than ever before in meeting the challenges of managing police work successfully." In other words is helps any police agency work together towards the same goal, which is to not only protect the people of the community they patrol but other law enforcement officers.

Both empowerment and delegation takes courage for a law enforcement officer to process. In a sense processing both empowerment and delegation helps the people in the community feel safe. The police organization is more organized because of how upper management handles any concerns not only from with the police agency but also the community.
