Determining Your Perfect Position

As a treasured and veteran employee, I have been presented a unique opportunity to determine a position that will best suit me. The most important thing is to understand the vision and mission of the organization. I also want to make sure to understand all daily routines and operations of the organization. Then primarily will choose the best position to fit my leadership style. I have completed a series of self-assessments to help understand my strengths and weaknesses of my leadership style. The self-assessment series is composed of 6 different assessments that ask questions from “What’s my leadership style?” to “How good am I at building and learning a team?” These assessments narrow down my strengths and more importantly, the weaknesses so I can improve in order to benefit the organization and be most successful.

What’s My Leadership Style?

Leadership is the ability to lead and the ability to influence others toward a common goal. The ability to lead can be passive or aggressive. What’s My Leadership Style? Assessment suggests my level of task and people-oriented skills. After completing this, I learned that I am need improvement on being task-oriented more than people-oriented. With the score of 9 for task-oriented, it is a low score because high score, which suggests high skill of task-oriented, is 10 or above and low score is set at below 10. Task-oriented is concerning with getting the tasks done. I have always thought of myself as being more task-oriented, thus, the result really surprises me. A task-oriented leader always focused on reaching the goals of the organization by ensuring that all tasks are complete. To improve from the score of 9, I need to be a little stricter on employees and not so lenient with letting things slide. This really is the difference with getting things done on time or not.
