Corporate Governance and Ethical Responsibility Research Paper

Dr. DoRight is the current acting President of the “Universal Human Care Hospital”, where he oversees all divisions of the hospital with over 5,000 employees and over 20,000 patients in the medical facility. This is an enormous amount of responsibilities and to reach optimum efficiency Dr. DoRight must be very attentive to every detail within his organization.

However, issues have been arising; Dr. DoRight notices that some patients within the hospital have been dying as a result of a variation of illegal and unethical procedures by physicians and nurses, and careless supervision and inaccuracy on their part.

As request by the President Dr.DoRight a full investigation was underway to correct the untimely deaths of his patients, but after two years there have been no results and people are still passing away due to slack activities. While patients are steadily being unnoticed, Dr. DoRight remains receiving awards for his leadership, outstanding achievements and meeting the medical facility’s primary business goals. Dr. DoRight is displaying unethical behavior.

Stakeholders

Who are stakeholders? Who are the persons/entities that are generally involved in the medical industry? In other words, who are the people or category of persons, or entities that Dr. DoRight work with and would be answerable to?

As President of the “Universal Human Care Hospital”, Dr.DoRight has to deal with several stakeholders both internal and external on a daily basis. Internal stakeholders of a hospital consist of physicians, nurses, and managers they are responsible and generally involved in the medical industry and the decision making. The external stakeholders include insurance companies, state and federal government, and patients.
