In our Unit 2 Invention Lab Discussion, we were asked to choose if one of our provisional answers would become one of the working thesis statements in our persuasive essay? In my discussion, I have chosen, “If the interest rates double, how this could affect the students and parents? [Provisional answer: This could affect the student and parent in a big way. This could cause a super huge amount of debt that could majorly stick with a person for numerous of years. It can cause many of students to drop out of school.” After reviewing my thesis sentence, I chose to change my thesis statement to “Subsidized student loans are set to become more expensive. The increase would affect more than 7.4 million students increasing the interest cost from 3.4 percent to 6.8 percent. Should the lower interest rate on Student loans be extended?”

The reason why I have chosen to write this sentence as my thesis statement is because it expresses how millions of people would become affected if the interest rates from student loans become outrageous. As a parent and spouse, it is hard to maintain a stable financial environment if majority of my money goes towards an outrage interest rate. It will mainly cause a person to stay in debt and not able to get out of it. I think the challenges that I may face is getting the Congress to agree on this situation.

University Press, CQ Press, Credo References, etc. I think these databases would be very helpful for my thesis. There are many different government websites that I can use to research my topic. I can use many different banks websites, government student loans...
