This was quite a different experience for me; I’ve never been an avid church goer. I consider myself to be heavily agnostic in fact. But I chose to go to an early Sunday morning worship at McKelvey rd. Baptist church. So I woke up at about 9:00 am that Sunday morning to prepare to drive over. Upon arriving I realized that I should have left sooner the parking was absolutely ridiculous. You would have thought that it was Kings Island or a Carnival, it was extremely crowded. After driving around for about ten minutes I was finally able to park.

As I walk into the church I was immediately greeted by people shaking hands and exchanging greetings. But as it took me some time to park there was not a lot of time for this as people were beginning to enter the worship area. As I walked in there was already a Hymn being sung by everyone. There was a small group of people on the pew with instruments. As we all settled and the song ended we were all greeted by the Pastor Bob Singleton. He wore an everyday black business suit and had a great booming voice.

He started off by announcing the daily birthdays and anniversaries. Then came the children’s penny march, in which all donations go towards the end of the year vacation bible school. Once the children are done collecting all of the younger ones exit and go to a “Children’s Church.” Then came the adult’s offertory, this was for the larger donations that will go to help the church in many ways. Such as repairs and to pay for Evangeline’s to visit.

Before the actual sermon began a few people went to the front alter and led all of us in multiple songs.

After all the singing was done pastor Bob began his lesson, this particular Sunday he was talking about how God wants us to model his character. He goes into great detail about the whole thing giving plenty of examples and descriptions of how we should behave.
