Answer each question in 100 to 150 words related to those stereotypes:

• What are the positive aspects of the stereotypes, if any?

Some aspects of stereotyping can be positive stereotyping such as saying all Jewish people are rich. As I think about stereotyping on the large scale though, I do not believe that It is positive even when it is saying something positive about a group of people. The reason I do not believe it is positive is because it is putting a label on all people even when the label may not be correct. I think that putting people in to groups is wrong or saying the person is going to be a certain way just because they dress, look, or talk a certain way. Putting stereotypes of people is oppressing our country.

• What are the negative aspects of stereotypes?

There are a lot of negative aspects about stereotyping. Some of the reasons I believe that stereotyping is negative are it oppresses out nation, assuming that a person is going to be a bad person just because they look a certain way, and because some people don’t even get a chance because of stereotyping. I believe that no one should have a label put on them with out them deserving that label. I believe one of the worst aspects of stereotyping is that police officers can choose to question a person based off of stereotyping, it is wrong and I do not agree with that at all. We are all individuals and until we prove our self to be a certain was then we should not be categorized.
