Module 7 Content Questions

Directions:

• Content Question Answers are to be posted no later than 11:59 P.M. Mountain Time on Wednesday to allow all student time to utilize answers posted by all students when studying for exams.

• Refer to the “Content Question Assignments” document in Doc Sharing to find which question you have been assigned to answer.

• Review the grading rubric for content questions, also located in Doc Sharing.

• Compose the answer to your question and post the answer in the Module 7 Content Questions Answers discussion. Your answer should be posted directly in the dialogue box on the discussion. Do not post your answer as an attachment.

• Your answer should be in your words. Do not quote from the text book or other sources. When examples are included, they should be your ideas and not a repetition of examples from the text book.

• Keep in mind that answers should be succinct. The typical length of an answer is one paragraph, two at the most. Focus on identifying the essential concepts for everyone in your class. While many of the questions could be addressed as an entire term paper, that is not the focus of this assignment.

2. Identify the structural characteristics, normal values, functions and life span of erythrocytes

3. Identify the structural characteristics, normal values, functions and life span of leukocytes

4. Identify the structural characteristics, normal values, functions and life span of platelets.

5. What are the major functions of the spleen and lymph nodes?

6. Briefly describe the development of erythrocytes touching on erythropoiesis, hemoglobin synthesis, the nutritional requirements for erythropoiesis and their normal destruction.

7. Describe the mechanisms and the sequence of events in hemostasis.
