It was a cold, snowy, winter day in Brighton Michigan. Trees blowing in the wind whistling like a ref at a basketball game. Car blowing back and forth, through the wind, on a drive to breakfast Sunday morning. The Clifford family enjoying there nice omelets sizzling as they hit the table and the eggs steaming like smoke coming out of a chimney. The family chewing down on breakfast like it is the last meal of their life. John the dad, tall skinny man that owns his own business says to the waitress, “can we pay for those people at the table along with ours please.”

The waitress says, “sure I will bring the bills right out.”

We pay the bills, leave and I am thinking nothing of what my dad just did. I step in the car and think, that’s the best thing I have seen my dad do all year for someone. It felt like it was his last day on earth and wanted to leave on a good note. As we pull in the drive way and I say, “Dad can we set up the train track around the tree.”

He says, “of course I will as long as you dance to this song.”

The song was whip it by the b52. That’s the song of my dad’s life and so I danced to it. As I walk in the door I ran down stairs got the train set and we set it up. The rest of the day we decided to hangout and watch some hockey and basketball the rest of the day. Before I go to bed and close my eyes my dad set out my basketball stuff he said, “Goodnight I will see you tomorrow for your game I love you go eagles.”

I wake up the next morning thinking to my self there is no way we have school its way to snowy, windy, icy, and cold. I ran to get my sisters that are twins and three years older then me and to get my brother and see if he is out in the snow playing already. As I am running around the house my mom says, “Johnnie you need to get ready for school.” My heart dropped and I thought to my self why no one should be able to drive its really bad out.
