Affects of Stress

In this situation, one would experience the exhaustion stage of GAS. One’s body would eventually become exhausted when the stress continues for a good amount of time. By being the exhaustion stage of GAS, the body’s mind and health will more likely suffer from the effects of stress.

The emotional effects of the stress that one would experience in this situation are anxiety, anger, and depression. The anxiety would be from getting the work done right and on time. The anger would be if the work could not be done on time or right. The depression that one would experience can come from the prolonged stress of the workload.

Health issues regarding stress can be a family trait. One might experience health issues such as anxiety, emotional issues, heart attack, ulcers, and lack of sleep, diet habits, and exhaustion. Not making time for yourself and not slowing down the body can cause the body to go into shock and cause health issues.

The good way for one to help relieve the stress in the work life would be to explain to the supervisor that having a teammate would make the tasks easier to handle. Another thing that might help is to evaluate if this is really, what you want to do and think about the effects of taking on a job like this. Thinking things through can make a big difference. If one does take the job, they might be able to come up with a system to make it less stressful.
