CRT 205 ~ Capstone Check Point

In the future, I will use critical thinking in my Professional, Personal Life, and Academics. Critical thinking allows me to analyze situations and information before making a decision. By using critical thinking, it will allow me to make decisions that are sounder than my decisions and actions that I have done in the past.

In my reading, I will use critical thinking by asking myself who, what, when, where, and why. I will find the main points and ideas. Once I have read over the article or document, I will need to make sure that I ask several questions one important questions being is this author credible? What is the main idea that this writer is trying to write about? In critical thinking it allows me to understand the information and retain the information that I have read.

When I am writing, I will use critical thinking to help me to avoid writing information that may sound with bias (unless what I am writing is based off my opinion).

In my writings critical thinking will help me to determine what information is fact from fiction, what information is important enough to keep within my writings and what information should be left out.

When I am evaluating articles, critical thinking will be applied to tell whether the writer was writing fact, his opinion, or both. Also, critical thinking can be applied to decide if the information in the writings as credible information. In advertising, critical thinking can be applied to know if the product is being talked up or if the item being promoted is really a legitimate product. When viewing media, I will use critical thinking to being a victim of subliminal messages and being racist when it comes to a certain age, or ethnic group. In conversations, I will decide if the speaker is being truthful or deceptive by the way they are presenting the conversation, body language, tone will both help determine this factor.
