dHard Rock Café global Strategy

1. Identify the strategy change that have taken place at Hard Rock Café since its found in 1971:

The first Hard Rock Cafe opened its doors to the public on June 14, 1971, in London, England. Founded by Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton.

At that time, in London, Hard Rock Café served food and rock music with equal enthusiasm. Then, expand the business main regions’ of nations and they established to create customers’ special experiences in café.

Each country has different risks such as political risks, currency risks and social norms. This is the main reason that they use franchise business style which is consisted of around half percentage of total number of stores.

They have been developed supply chain management.

Recently, they have changed the main target customers who are travelers to local residents. One of the examples is that they opened stores in Manchester and Brimming. Those places are not travelers to visit very often. They focus on more local customers.

The main change since its foundation has been the globalization of the brand. Hard Rock started as a British café, and is now a global brand with restaurants, hotels…

But not only the globalization, also, a change in the offer has made Hard Rock to be what it’s actually today: To offer not only meals and products, but EXPERIENCES.
