Abstract

In this paper I will discuss my personal code of conduct and ethical development that will inform you of my point of view and origins of ethic behaviors. I will address a personal experience to help explain the relationship between virtue, values, and morality concepts as they relate to each other. A personal experience would be my character results back in week one; web based Ethics Game called the Ethical Lens Inventory.   I was assigned to play the Ethics Game-Ethical Lens Inventory for class to determine which ethical perspective best categorized me. My preferred is Results and Reputation Lens. As you read more you’ll learn what exactly it means.

Personal Ethics Statement

Ethical Lens Inventory is used as a way to identify what values are more important to you as an individual and what his or her challenges and strengths are. The inventory allows seeing ethical issues clearly and learning how to resolve them better. Being aware that people have different priorities and different values helps to respects each other’s point of views.

I enjoyed taking the Ethical Lens Inventory test. The results were surprisingly quite accurate in describing my character; especially after reading the definitions of each lens and found that I fell into the Reputation Lens. The Reputation Lens defines an action ethical if, “it is consistent with the habitual development of sound character traits including habits of thoughtful reflection, good intentions and noble human virtues.” I believe in fairness and honesty. I am not so quick to make decisions and judgments. I think that this is a huge quality, but it can be frustrating sometimes. I find that weighing out the pros and cons when having to make a judgment call is fair but can also be

tedious.

My blind spot is “Unrealistic Role Expectations”. I found it to be very interesting because I did not realize I was being...
