Individual Project Assignment

Pinterest Board

For my individual project assignment I decided to develop a presence on Pinterest for my place of work, Rittenhouse Station. Rittenhouse Station is a local student housing apartment complex. It is an exceptional apartment community with an extraordinary living experience, which I believe needs as much as exposure on social media as possible. As a part of my job requirement I had previously created a Pinterest account under the name of Rittenhouse Station, there are about 11 various boards on the account that myself and fellow co-workers edit daily (along with our other social media platforms). However, there was something missing from this variety of boards…and it didn’t dawn on me until this project was assigned. I have decided to create a “Rittenhouse” titled board that is essentially a virtual tour that continuously links back to the company’s website.

I choose this specific social media activity, because I feel that Pinterest has a lot of reach potential, especially to our current and future tenants. This Pinterest board will hopefully draw followers of not only our Pinterest page, but also Facebook and Twitter users, to our main website. We have linked our “pins” to appear to on our Facebook news-fed and Twitter stream, this way we can interact on more than one platform at the same time. Once on the company website they will be able to do more research on what Rittenhouse Station is all about. We at Rittenhouse are proud of what we do and what we have created, so showcasing our beautiful apartments to appreciative community like the Pinterest one seemed like the perfect idea.

It is my belief that this specific board will be extremely beneficial to driving traffic to our company’s website. The photos that are “pinned” into the Rittenhouse board are actual pictures of our amazing apartments and scenic campus.
