Business Environment Assignment
Cement manufacturing sector:
The transformational process involved in cement production is.
Input: Portland cements are made by grinding a mixture of limestone, clay and other corrective materials, viz. Laterite, Bauxite, etc. Essential constituents mainly are Lime, Silica, Alumina and Iron Oxide.
Transformational process: The process of manufacturing consists of grinding of raw materials into fine powder, mixing them intimately and burning in a kiln at about 1400 deg. C. The resultant product is called Clinker. Clinker is cooled, ground to fine powder with gypsum.
Output: The below process show the typical manufacturing process of cement.

External factors effecting cement industry globally are:
• Impact of resource extraction (fossil fuel, limestone and other minerals) upon environmental quality, bio diversity and landscape aesthetics
• Depletion of non renewable or slowly renewable resources (fossil fuels or ground water)
• Dust emissions (from mines, cement production and transport)
• Other emissions that can affect air quality: nitrogen oxides (NOx), dioxins, metals etc.
• Carbon dioxide involved in global climate change.
Industry Environment:
During the current year the growth rate of the cement is recorded to be 32% and the domestic market recorded a growth rate of 6.6%. The export market stood good during the period and recorded high growth rate and domestic growth rate disappointed since expected growth was aground 20% this slow down was due to slow/down domestic market due to recession and slow down in Infra structure industry.
Internal Environment:
1) Usage of solid wastes
2) Regional development
3) Share holder value creation
