Answer each question in 250 to 350 words:

1. What are some of the ways groups of people are identified?

Groups of people are identified by race, gender, and religion.

Unfortunately, people are not given the opportunity for jobs and sometimes acceptance by the other races family solely because of the color of their skin. The same goes for gender. Though against company policy, some employers will only hire men for C-level positions only because they are considered superior to women. Last but not least we have religion. Religious groups can sometimes be identified by the clothes they wear. For example, the Muslim faith, the women are usually covered from head to toe, exposing only their eyes. Not only are they identified by their clothes but are often discriminated against.

I am proud to say that I was never raised to judge people by any of these groups. I see people as people. I don’t see color or religion. I love all people and wish the entire world felt the same way I do.

2. Why do people label and group other people?

According to our reading people are grouped by race, ethnicity, religion, and gender. People label and group by other people simply because of their physical appearance and or the way an individual lives. As if grouping isn’t bad enough people are then labeled because of stereotypes.
