Synopsis: Director Oliver Parker has come with a great tragic play by the great William Shakespeare. Laurence Fishburne stars as the Moor, General Othello, who return as a hero after the great demolishment of the Turkish invasion by Cyprus. Othello (Laurence Fishburne) who is in love with Desdemona (Irene Jacob), are going to get married. Othello’s secondhand man Iago (Kenneth Branagh), is jealous of Cassio promotion to Lieutenant, begins to make a scheme to make Othello believe that Desdemona and Cassio are having an affair. In other words, Iago manages to trick Othello and all hell breaks loose.

Review:

Oliver Parker introduce you to one of the greatest play by William Shakespeare. This entertaining, erotic thriller is one of the best reenactment plays bought to you by William Shakespeare.

After Othello’s return from the great victory over the Turkish Army, his second hand man, Iago, is jealous of the promotion Cassio received from General Othello. With this happening, Iago makes a scheme to manipulate Othello’s mind to believe that Cassio is having an affair with Desdemona. His plan is successful, come to find out that Othello ends up killing his love one.

This was a great thriller film with all of its evil plots and mystery killing. All the actors were great especially Iago, he was really focus and never out of script. Got to give credit to Irene Jacob, who also starred in U.S Marshal, was another great asset to the film with a beautiful face and young self.

The two hour long isn’t so bad. Some parts are a bit boring but when it comes down to a dramatic scene, it’s great. The theme dating back to 1600’s, this play was well filmed.
