A project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service or result. Projects hae a beginning and an end; they are not ongoing activities. Because of this, the management of a project differs considerable from that of an ongoing operation.

5. What is a “Work-Breakdown Structure (WBS)?

In the scheduling phase of project management, the cross-functional team specifies the project plan in more detail. This phase begins with the construction of a detailed list of project activities, called a work-breakdown structure. A detailed time schedule for each activity in the work-breakdown structure is then established.
