Coca-Cola was found on May 8, 1886 by a Dr. John Pemberton who had the Coca-Cola syrup mixed with carbonated water that was sold out of Jacobs’ Pharmacy in downtown Atlanta for five cents a glass. For the last 15 years Coca-Cola have been producing on of the worlds must know soft drinks. Know they have over 500 brands such as Powerade, Minute Maid, and Dasani water are sold in at least one city in every county and over 200 countries around the world. Even through Coca-Cola is well known across the world they have faced different ethical issues that can to the attention of the public eye in the 1990’s. The issues that the company had to face where product safety, anti-competitiveness, racial discrimination, channel stuffing distributor conflicts, intimidation of union workers, pollution, and depletion of natural resources (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2008). Since these issues have risen against the company that had to deal with problems in private settlements and court battles. Even with the issues that are listed the company still have been able to stay in business with customers purchasing their products and stakeholders are still investing into their products.

Besides having assets, having a good reputation with the public and stakeholders may be the more important for the success of company. The reputation of the company can be the easiest thing to lose and can be very challenging to maintain with everything in the world changing everyday. If a company is able to maintain a good reputation it can add value to the company, which will help recruit and keep talented employees, gain capital to reinvest, keep a high customer base, and everyone will know that the organization will respond fast and ethically to any issues that may come about.

Having a reputation that is good will allow the company to able to continue to operate and make a profit in the different parts of the world.
