Environmental Pollution Simulation

In the Environmental Pollution Simulation, we were making critical decisions on how to effectively control the pollution in our town of Keywich. In the city the population was growing due to new factories being constructed and creating more jobs in the area. From the development of the factories they started to create more pollution and waste then the city was ready for. So taking the roll as the mayor of Keywich we consulted outside companies to take assessment of the problems and give their recommendations on how we could improve it.

The beginning of the simulation we have to deal with air pollution and what we can do to reduce and improve the air quality. Since the air pollution was increasing because of the population boom due to all the new factories and businesses opening up in certain areas they noticed a change in the air quality. So in order to correct this, a council was made up to figure out what to do and how to do it. Due to the council budget we campaigned with the local residents and businesses to enforce pollution control legislation on the factories, which meant for them to invest into scrubbers, electrostatic precipitators, and desulfurization equipment to help reduce sulfur emissions. These devices are used to reduce harmful chemicals into the environment by way of collecting the gases and in certain types of manufacturing these emissions can be recovered to be used efficiently.

In the next section we had to deal with trash pickup which was a concern because as the population grew, they also generated more refuge. As the mayor, you received suggestions from the survey on how to clean up the city and do it without going over budget. From the suggestion the best outcome was to promote recycling. In going this route we were going to try compost organic waste which could be used as a natural fertilizer. After that we would use biomediation methods at the landfills that use microorganisms to break down...
