Writing a report will be an important activity during your study. In many cases a written report will be the final assignment. It is a way to present your knowledge. But also after finishing your study, in professional life, writing reports plays an important role as well. An advisory, a research report or a process report are just some examples you might find in an organisation.
This manual will help you to write a report according to the standards of the institute of Finance and Economics of Saxion. A report will be your business card during your study and in later on professional life. Furthermore, when you learn how to write a correct report now, you will take advantage of this in the future.
A correct report consists of the following subjects (in the listed order):
• Cover and title page
• Prefatory note
• Summary (management summary, executive summary)
• Content page
• Introduction ( = always chapter 1)
• Chapter 2 up to chapter…
• Conclusion (= always the last chapter)
• Literature list
• Appendices
