The Immigration issue has been ongoing for a while but usually becomes a hot topic during elections time. On Immigration everyone has two views, whether it is positive or negative. Two aspects of immigration to the United States have rarely changed. First, immigrants have come to America for a variety of reasons, primarily for economic opportunity and the chance to live in a free society. Second, opposition to immigration has exited always in America with the degree of practical obstacles to those immigrating influenced by the country’s economic circumstances and American’s perceptions of international events.

The issues, challenges, and opportunities experienced by this group in the labor force.

Immigration issue affects the United States economy and labor force in both negative and positive ways. When we think of immigration the first concern, we have is about jobs. Yes the wages for low-skilled workers go down, but on the bright side, the Americans benefit by having to pay lower prices for things like agricultural produce, construction, and etcetera. The biggest negative impact is on government. The presentation in front of Congress questioning the “loss of 84,00 pounds of farm production, the loss of 2200 farm worker jobs and workers to Mexico and one million acres of farmland shutdown because there is not enough laborers to work it. With no clear of any solution or attempt for one because of the restriction of undocumented immigrants is one example of how, it is affecting the United States economy and labor situations. Just as important for consideration in this economic scenario is the $1.1 billion dollars spent by the United States Government for medical expenses for all undocumented men, women and children in the United States ("U.S. Immigration Statistics," 2012).
