Why I am Pursuing an MBA

Choosing to pursue an MBA (Masters of Business Administration) will be a giant step toward an ultimate goal, starting a new career in the business industry. The MBA degree is thought to be one of the greatest assets a person can have. Graduates who hold an MBA are eligible for jobs not offered to those who hold only a high school diploma, which makes the degree almost a necessity in today’s business world. An MBA also provides a well-rounded understanding of the many facets of business. In this paper I will show how acquiring an MBA will offer new opportunity, increase my chances for higher pay, and provide knowledge and realistic experiences to a variety of real-world business situations that will help me become successful in my career.

An MBA supply many different types of employment opportunities to those who hold the degree. When a new graduate looks for a job, they have a better chance of obtaining the position they seek. Many employers won’t even consider applicants unless they have a graduate degree. Not only do an MBA offer higher pay there are many new connections presented that can be beneficial later. Other opportunities besides new connections and vast job outlets are lower unemployment rates and higher earnings. “According to statistics and projections from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) workers who have a bachelor’s or graduate degree have higher earnings and lower unemployment than workers who have lower education” (Crosby, Olivia and Lacey, Jill N., 2004). In my research I have learned an MBA is a necessity to start or advance any career.

An MBA degree not only offers new opportunities, but also offers a chance to increase salary potential. Higher education has always been key in gaining advancement in pay.
