The employer should keep a check on the theft of the intellectual property of the organization. Due advancement in the field of technology like internet it has become more problematic for the employers. The information technology should also be monitored by the employees. The vast amount of the data is available to the business and the employees. The employees should be trained properly with the ethics of the organization. We must discuss the ethical theories for understanding the ethics. There are the two issues that are the ethics of the employee monitoring and the ethics of certain employee behaviour. The Utilitarian theory of ethics suggest that employers take the action which lead to the betterment of the large number of the stakeholders. The employee’s decision to act ethically or unethically is concerned with the Kant’s theory of the categorical imperative. The Kant’s theory is based on the moral rules of the individuals or the universal laws to be applied for the mankind. The ethical decision making must have respect for the basic rights of individuals. In case where there are two contrary ethics. The two fronts must be weighted and decision must be made on the basis of the priority.
