Mrs. B has undergone the loss of her father and her son going away to college out of state throughout the year. On a neurobiological perspective one can assume that she is most likely depressed which is leading her to become ‘boring’. Her brain leads her to feel that just as she lost her father and the leaving of her own son that her students will also soon leave her. She has been less and less enthusiastic about teaching because the thought of losing more important people in her life saddens her and she does not want to lose anymore. She feels that if she is ‘boring’ then she will not a type of connection with the students and once they leave she will not feel lonely again. She should take some sort of anti-depression medication to relieve her and help her cope with the losses in her life.

On a humanistic perspective, the death of her father took a huge toll on her life and the emotions of the aftermath were overwhelming for her. To top it off her son went away that same year off to college and she was left alone. These two men were obviously very important to her and her happiness. She relied on them for cheering up and happiness, I can assume that her son was her motivation to teaching her students in a creative environment so that they as well can go

Off to college one day and make their parents proud. She is happy for her son but the emotions of the death are too much to overcome. Due to the fact that she had no one to motivate her anymore to do what she once did so well, she is now unable to motivate others to succeed. She needs to find something that will once again motivate her and make her happy so she can move on from the death of her father and moving of her only son.

Psychodynamic perspective, Mrs. B must have had some unresolved problems/issues with her father or son or possibly both. This caused her personality to change once her father passed. The fact that their issues were not able to be resolved would forever bother her and knowing that...
