Other network topologies:

1. Bus topology: In there is a single cable and each computer is connected to this cable at the point which is nearest to cable. the single cable is of high bandwidth,so, that it can handle data from all nodes. It is mainly used in lan networks.

Each signal travels on main cable and reach every node,if the destination address matches with the node, then the message is accepted, else it is rejected.

It is very cheap because only a single cable is used. But whole network fail if main cable have a fault.

2. Ring topology: in ring network, every computer is connected with two of its neighbours to form a ring. Data travles around the whole ring, visiting each node at a time, until it reach its destination node. If a connection between any node is failed,it message moves in other direction. It is mainly used high speed network like wan of city and redundancy should be less between the neighbour nodes.

3. Tree topology: in this, a node is connected with one or more nodes, which in turn are connected with one or more nodes,to form a tree.If message is originated from root node, then it is moved down the tree until it reaches its destination and if the message is originated from a node and destination is in other subtree, then it first reaches the root node(node at the top and then to it destination.

If link to any node have a fault then it can’t receive data until it is fixed. It is mainly used in networks where branching is more and new node are added very often.

4. Fully connected: In this topology,a dedicated connection is established between each node to every other node in network. In this no. of connection are very high and so,it is very expensive. It is mainly used in networks, where high reliblity is required. This topology is reliable because a node is connected with all other node,so, even if one connection fails,it can receive data from other connection.

5. Hybrid topology: It contains combination of every other...
