3) Use one or more display modes (e.g., basic scorecards, cross-country comparison) to examine the position of the countries.

4) Post your answers to the following questions:

• What countries did you choose? Why?

• What indicators did you select? Why?

• In which countries would you invest based on this initial analysis?

What countries did you chose and why?

All of them are located in completely different parts of the world and represent different cultures and different economies.

Australia is a very well developed country with a steady market economy. Poland used to be under the control of the communist government system in the 1980s; today it’s the sixth largest economy in Europe with quite big investment potential.

Mexico is an emerging market where I can see good investment opportunity; I have been traveling there every year and I think that could be potentially good investment for Starbucks.

GDP per Capita, political stability, voice of accountability, control of corruption, private sector spending, cooperation in labor-employer relations, the brain drain (competitiveness), pay and productivity, labor and tax contributions, unemployment rates, intensity of local competition, days and cost to start a business.

In which countries would you invest based on this initial analysis?
