Romantic Love is a poor basis for marriage. Romantic love is infatuation. Physical love, as in sex, is the only real true feeling. I believe that this feeling of euphoria fades and disappears. I do not think true love exists. Some will say that Romantic Love is the only basis for marriage, that without romance present in life, marriage is not worth it. I believe that romantic love is a poor basis for many reasons. To put all of your eggs in one basket, to open up to someone, to make them your world to me, is not practical. Doing any of these things immediately adds stress to your life and complicates things. Suddenly you now have to worry about two lives, your own, and now your significant other. Life is hard, life is filled with problems, and stress, and decisions, so to add a relationship on top of that is an impractical decision. Timing is another point that supports my stance. You can love someone more than you love yourself. But the timing could be off. You could be deploying for the marines, you could be sick, you could be out of work, immature, not financially responsible, to young, etc. Romantic love is important, but these are just some of the other factors that I believe are more important. I might not be over a past relationship, I might be at my busiest time of year at work, and have no time for another. These are things that would add stress to your life. Responsibility, as well as, job stability, life stability, peace with yourself and age is factors too. It’s said that you must love yourself, before you can love someone else. What If we never are at peace with our self? I don’t think we ever should be. Happiness is the most important aspect of life, to become happy, we should always be trying to improve. With each obstacle we overcome and improve we want more. We want bigger and better things, which we in turn think will make us happy. I...
