Jesus death and the ways of God

Jesus the most prolific leader of the Bible commissioned by God to repair a nation (Jews) and people (Gentiles) of their spiritual behavior and in John 3:15, Jesus said, “those that believe on me will have everlasting life” (New Living Translation). Jesus accused of being a blasphemer, in John 10:30, Jesus states, “The father and I are one” that complicated the minds of the Jews and the Roman government. The religious leaders were frustrated because they could not control Jesus and his teachings. Jesus teachings contradicted the teachings of the Pharisees and Sadducees because of their “traditions of men,” which keep the people in bondage.

Motivations for the Jews

There are many motivations for the Jews to rid themselves of this man called Jesus the Christ. According to Word press (2011), the Jews political leaders called Jesus, a man full of demons, which the religious leaders used the term “Beelzebub” to mean Satan. The teachers of the law could not deny the reality of Jesus supernatural power. The Sanhedrin leaders in Mark 14:1, 2 plotted to kill Jesus because the leading priest was afraid of the popularity of Jesus. In 1988 Niswonger stated, “The Sanhedrin plotted to kill Jesus, the charge that the council charge him with was public blasphemy” (pg.170). In the Old Testament, the crime of public blasphemy was punishable by death. However, the council did not to want kill Jesus because the group afraid of the uproar it would create, so the group sought after the Romans to do their dirty work.

Motivations of the Romans

The Jews sought Pontus Pilate, the Roman governor, he had no authority to execute Jesus, and the Sanhedrin Council knew that if they executed Jesus it would bring uproar, so the Sanhedrin Council...
