In today’s world every organization needs a person who will lead people toward accomplishing goals in order to achieve success. A person who should take this responsibility is known as a leader. Although, there are a lot of leaders in this world, not each of them understands what requirements need to be taken to become a true leader. This is a reason why are some leaders more powerful than others. A powerful leader knows when and how to use his power, while ineffective leader uses his leading power against workers and success of the organization. Employees as well as a leader are just human beings; they have feelings and opinions which are greatly influenced by a person who is leading them. Therefore, to be a leader does not mean to be a strict boss without caring for his people. On the contrary, a leader has to be genuine and serves as a role model. Unfortunately, there are leaders who have failed because of lack of interest in their workers. When leaders are not interested in employees, employees are not interested in accomplishing their work either. The result of it is almost always the failure of the organization. On the other hand, an effective leader knows that showing appreciation to his employees is one of the main tools every good leader should possess (Kerfoot, 426).

One would say that the leader has to be born, but in fact leader is formed over time. Base on article “Leadership is everybody business”, a good leader needs to go through numbers of experiences and challenges. Then, potential leader can use gained experiences in the real world finding out whether he is able to perform this function.
