When people think of corporations that generate the most income they often think of software, or accessories corporations. It never crosses anyone’s mind that water corporations are one of the most successful businesses in the world. Just in the year two thousand and seven twenty nine billion bottles of water were purchased in the United States. Nestle is the largest selling water supplier in the United States and made 3.6 billion dollars in bottle water sales in two thousand and eight. This film stresses the importance of keeping these companies out of the fresh water areas so that someday we don’t run out. Is water an endless supply? This film really makes you wonder because climate changes say otherwise.

Maine versus Nestle water is a battle that is going on up to this current day. The local community members of Maine do not want Nestle stealing their fresh water from them. The reason that Nestle is battling with Maine is because the state currently has the largest fresh water supply in the country. It all started when Nestle never notified the people of Maine that they were going to start pumping water from there fresh water locations. The people of Maine complain about paying the taxes to keep the fresh water clean so why are they just allowing this company to steal it from them. The next event that upset the community came in two thousand and four when all the water in the community stopped working for two days, and yet Nestle was able to keep pumping during this state of emergency. The fear of the community of Maine is that other water companies are going to enter their state and start pumping more out of the fresh springs.

In two thousand and five thirty five states had droughts across the country. They were still letting these corporations take water out of lakes where droughts were occurring yet locals had restrictions on how much water they could use. This is a major problem in the United States because I do not...
