I. Objective

* To demonstrate the functional relationship between work load and heart rate.

* To be acquainted with the techniques for measurement of work load and heart rate.

II. Working Hypothesis

* Heart Rate (beat/min)= work (kj/min)

III. Procedures

* At rest (for every member of the class.)

Rest for 5 minutes, measure BPM.

* Walking

Walk across the classroom (poor to window back and forth)

* Climbing stairs

Climb 4th floor up to classroom. Measure BPM.

IV. Data

V. Data Analysis

1. Plot the data for heart rate: work

2. Compute for coefficient of correlation.

3. Compute the compute-using linear regression.

1. Data for Heart Rate: Work

2. Coefficient of Correlation

[pic]Formula:

r= (13)(67,741)-(888)(980)

√{(13)(61,594)-(788,544)}{(13)(74,784)-(960,400)}

r= 0.867
