During this week, I focused my attention on eating disorders, obsession of weight and nourishing food. I have analyze several articles such as “Is Our Obsession with Weight” by Jill Richardson and Lind Bacon, “A Way Outa No Way” by Beck Thompson and “Nourishing Ourselves “ by Nancy Worcester. This article address issues about unbearable weight.

In “Is Our Obsession with Weight” by Jill Richardson and Lind Bacon”, addressed that it’s not about weight rather than if the person healthy. “According to Bacon (who is aware of the irony of her last name), being overweight or obese does not put people at significant health risk. Rather, factors like fitness, activity, nutrient intake, weight cycling, or socioeconomic status are far more important in determining disease risk” (1). She wants people to understand that it’s not all about dieting. She believes that people should eat in moderation and be concern about their health. Personally, I noticed a lot of people eat and drink low fat stuff, nevertheless, to expect to lose weight. I think low fat and diet soda has a more effect on people weight. I realize that a lot of people are ignorant about “fat” people. Many people believe that they are lazy, sleep all the time she made it, and overeat. By watching Joy Marsh, videos change people views in the world. She gives great messages within the videos. Marsh makes people realize that you only live once and live it up. She also says if you’re overweight don’t take what people throw at you. She wants people to have a backbone and stand up to the negative people. She believes that fat people are people too, so we should respect them. Therefore, this article has an impact on women because women try to change their bodies jut to be accepted by the world.
