At first glance as one visualizes what the day to day routine is and how it is affected by various things one thing can be certain and that is one major factor that plagues a day to day routine and that plague is Procrastination. Procrastination is a devastating issue that can not only deter one from accomplishing a simple task such as filing numerous electronic files to a file server but can cause one to not meet timelines and can also slow ones productivity tremendously.

Procrastination is a mental road block for various reasons. Some people procrastinate because they believe that they are faced with a daunting task that it is better sometimes to not try at all rather than fail while trying. This mental road block is difficult to tackle and also hard to get over.

As we continue our journey through self discovery about our learning styles, approaches to learning, and our learning habits we have to examine why the procrastinator does what he/she dose and why. To evaluate this question we can find such information online or also by using University online Libraries such as the University of Phoenix online library or simply we can look at our readings. For instance according to Carol Carter, Joyce Bishop, and Sarah Lyman Kravits authors of Keys to College Studying: Becoming An Active Thinker (2nd ed.2007) “Although it can bring relief in the short term, avoiding tasks almost always causes problems, such as a buildup of responsibilities and less time to complete them, work that is not up to par, disappointment to others who are depending on your work, and stress brought on by the weight of the unfinished tasks.”
