Intro

Tangle wood is an organization that was founded by two friends Tanner Emerson and Thurston Wood. (Tanglewood casebook). The organization is a chain of retail stores that are profitable and are looking to provide the best for their company and the staff alike. They are hiring an outside consulting firm to look into the business for information as to help the company grow and stay relevant to the consumers and as a competitor to their competition from similar stores with their continued expansion. The idea is to go through the organization from the top down in order to provide Tanglewood with information as to how to improve the human resources department.

Business Strategy

Tanglewood is a company that has thrived as a retailer among others that have a stronghold in a relatively large market. They are looking to expand and in order to do so want to get a grip on how to make sure that the acquisitions they have made as well as the locations they already have on the right page as well as have a strategic plan to continue their success and become a leader in a large industry. By doing so they are going to set themselves up to have a well staffed organization that not only is able to be a cohesive unit but also play a role in what the company does in the future. They have great numbers when comparing to those in the same industry and are able to reach out to a diverse set of customers.

Staffing Levels

Acquire or Develop Talent

Tanglewood has made it a point to develop the staff they have rather than acquiring the talent and in this case they should use those same tactics with the acquisitions they have and are looking to. This will allows for them to maintain the same principles as were in place from when they opened and operated their first location. Also by maintaining these principles they will keep themselves above the competition.
