Ellsberg: 116-118, Isaiah 52-53, 58 Summa Reading Isaiah for the first time leaves it a little hard for me to decipher yet. It talks a bit about righteousness and what comes along with that. In The footnote for Isaiah 53 the final sentence says "The righteous individual may bear the sin if the many who are guilty." That definitely correlates to Christ Being crucified for our sins and many other saintly stories. Another weird insight I had from Isaiah was; maybe that it could have been somehow misconstrued as a reason to crusade for the holy land. With all the talk talk of removing the unclean and uncircumcised from the holy city. I hope to learn more in the discussion in class. Fannie Lou Hamer. What can I say about her? She was a pretty awesome lady. She fought for equality against all odds and actually helped change the face of a nation. She fought not with rock and stone or bullets and bombs, but it with defiance. The Defiance of a centuries old way of life. The defiance of a society divided by a history still dealt with today. This defiance was with acts of solidarity and unwavering strength. She gave it her all to make a better world for all those after her. I would hope we could all strive to be so selfless.

Insights & Questions: • • Who are the uncircumcised and unclean? Where does someone find such strength as Hamer did to withstand enormous obstacles for the greater good?
