Introduction

Marketing plan is important to communicate with the customers and make them aware about the organizational products. E-book reader of Amazon Company is selected as a product for the project for which marketing plan will be formed. E-book reader provides books or study material through digital e-book and periodicals (Hague, 2002). Device that presents the text on a screen works as e-book reader. Marketing plan for Amazon’s e-book reader will be formed.

New product development-the need for an e-book reader

The opportune time for an eBook is now. In the current information age that requires volumes of data to be analyzed, exchanged, examined and finally stored, there is certainly a big gap that that can be conveniently be bridged by a handy piece of electronic device that can certainly be portable bearing resemblance to the size of a book but not limited to the functions of a hard copy book. Books can be found everywhere even though they have been a reduced presence triggered by the desire for the use of technology. But for tedious reading and research, the computer was inconvenient as it took up a lot of time to download information, it was too inconvenient to carry around and not all the research information was available in the desired format.

To analyze what is exactly needed to fill this void, some specific points are highlighted:

* It requires too much printing materials such as ink and paper to process small amounts of data.

* To provide an alternative solution in terms of readability. The computer screen is hard on the eyes especially if there is not enough light and at various angles.

* Books can take up storage which can be precious and they become obsolete eventually.
