In 2008 and 2007 the recession forced businesses to employ new competitive strategies to survive. As mentioned in the publication The Post Recession Workplace- Competitive Strategies for Recovery and Beyond , Centro de Tecnologia Canavieira, a sugarcane plant in Brazil took a hit from the recession. In the article it stated that they controlled their budget and continued their investments in research and development strategies. They also ventured into new markets in Brazil and brought in new products and services to attract different associations in that sugarcane industry (45). Other companies mentioned in the article, brought incentive to the workplace to keep moral up. One company stated that even thought they could not give out bonuses because they had to monitor finical spending. They did still recognize employees preforming well. This company does not mention what they gave, but they said they gave out “various forms of nonmonetary” awards ( 10).

Demand is the relationship between the price of a good/service and the quantity demanded by customers at a certain time.
a. Increase in consumer income
It will cause an increase in the purchase of comuputers (normal good). The demand curve will shift to the right
b. Increase in the price of computers
It will cause a decrease in the purchase of comuputers (normal good). The demand curve will shift to the left.
c. Decrease in the price of internet service providers
This product is complementary good to computers. And a decrease in the price of Internet service providers will increase the purchase of computers (normal good). The demand curve will shift to the right.
d. Decrease in the price of semi conductors
If there is a decrease in price of this product there is no effect on the price of computers....
