Describe the differences between Ray Betzell’s and Chiu Wai’s perspectives on Shui fabrics’ ROI in terms of the GLOBE Project value dimensions.

Cultural differences has been identified by an assessment that was conducted and researched by the Global Leadership and Organizational Behavior Effectiveness better know today as the GLOBE Project value dimensions. According to Daft (2010) the nine dimensions are as follows: Assertiveness, Future orientation, Uncertainty avoidance, Gender differentiation, Power distance, Societal collectivism, Individual collectiveness, Performance orientation, and Humane orientation. Out of the nine stated, Ray Betzell a general manager for a joint venture between Rocky River and Shanghai Fabric and Chiu Wai the Chinese general manager shared differences on Shui fabric ROI in regards to future orientation which refers to how society encourages and rewards planning for the future over a short term results and quick or instant gratification. Power distance which refers to the degree people expects and accepts equality or inequality in relationships and institutions. Performance orientation which refers to a society with a high performance orientation places high emphasis on performance and rewards people for performance improvements and excellence. A low performance orientation means people pay less attention to performance and more attention to loyalty, belonging, and background. Finally, humane orientation this society rewards people for being fair, altruistic, generous, and caring. A country high with this orientation places value on helping others and being kind. A country low on this value expects people to take care of themselves.

Chui Wai felt that everyone should have been pleased with the five percent return on investment that was distributed to the United States company. According to Chui’s point of view the level of profit...
