Human Resource Management plays an important role in the healthcare industry. The human resource department helps that organization come together to accomplish goals of that organization. According to the text the human resource department are considered as “staff employees” this is an employee who supports line employees, a line employee is one that is involved in the production of that company. In healthcare this would involve giving the direct care or the services that are needed to keep the company running.

Some of the functional roles of the human resource department include training, compensation benefits, company policy, health benefits and rules and regulations. Training involves different activities and or meetings that help employees meet all the skills requirements that are needed to complete their job. Compensation of benefits includes what the employee will get paid because of the work that they are doing within that organization.

The human resource department is responsible for making sure that the employees hours work are turned in so that they can get paid. The human resource department also deals with health benefits this is something that has to be done yearly and has a renewal date each year, the benefits include health insurance, dental and vision. The human resource department has the responsibility of also keeping up with employee records and private information that they must keep confidential such as their social security number and what their salary is.

Working in the human resource department you are required to have good communication skills so you are able to speak with different people and staff when needed to solve problems if they arise. Overall human resource management is the key to success in any organization by providing the staff with training and information that relates to the job so that the organization will succeed in what they are trying to accomplish.
