Demanding Ethical and Socially Responsible Behavior

We define ethics as society’s accepted standards of moral behavior, that is, behaviors accepted by society as right rather than wrong. In the US with so many diverse cultures, you might think it is impossible to identify common standards of ethical behavior. We all deserve integrity, respect for human life, self-control, honesty also we all no cheating, coward, cruelty etc. is wrong. Being respected is what we all want but at times we are disrespected or can be disrespectful.

It is easy to criticize business and political leaders for moral and ethical forth comings, but always remember that ethics begins with each of us. At time we all violate policies of our organization such as going on the internet and watching movies when we know not to and someone sees you and then you get terminated. I feel that it is not the employers fault it is your because you signed an employee handbook acknowledging that this action would take place. We are responsible for our actions and have to live up to them whether we like them or not and beat ourselves up for it. In actuality you have to learn from your mistakes and correct. Trust is another issue that we face depending on what a person has already gone through. Some are easy to be trust because of their trustworthy actions while some cannot be trusted at all.
