• How is discrimination different from prejudice and stereotyping?

Discrimination is acting upon different prejudices or stereotyping. No matter who you are, everyone will form some kind of bias or prejudice against one thing or another but many people do not take any actions because of these biases. Companies that do not hire someone because of their race or sex for example would be discrimination while only assuming that because of someone’s race or sex that they are lazy is prejudice, for example. Obviously, none of these are good, but it is easy to argue that discrimination is much worse than prejudice or stereotyping.

• What are the causes of discrimination?

Discrimination is caused my people not knowing enough about each other. People would not act on these prejudices if they knew better, that maybe one bad apple is spoiling the bushel. If...
