The unfriendly war in American history goes to the Civil War also known as the “brother’s war”. The Civil war began on April 12, 1861 when the Confederate battleships bombed Union soldiers at Fort Sumter. The war lasted for four years, ending in the spring 1865. Normally the progression of ending a war contains representatives of the opposing nations sitting down and organizing peace. That was not the case for the Civil War. Resolution was intolerable for the meek reason the two parties were not held to be equal. Reconstruction attempts actually begun before the war started when the Senate Crittenden Committee tried to talk to find an answer that might reverse the development of progression. That attempt failed and the War begun. The Civil War had its advantages and disadvantages on each opposing force. There were two main turning points after the Civil war. One of the main turning points was the Reconstruction of America by Abraham Lincoln that was attempted during the Civil war and continued after. The second turning point was industrialization which was the growth of society and the workforce. The two events greatly impacted each other during this era. The war shattered the South. The four year war cost each side tremendous amount of money. This total did not only include the money spent on the war but also construction and agricultural cost preceding the war. Inflation, hunger, and physical ruin were also problems that came with the Civil war and the whole economic basis of the south had to be changed as well. The south was now mostly free from slavery but the slave owners had encountered a financial lost.
