Mesopotamia and Egypt

Despite the fact that Mesopotamia and Egypt have many similarities such as each having very hot climates and also having similar ways of transportation; they also have very many differences like where their country is located and the way they use agriculture and irrigation systems with the land they have.

Since Mesopotamia and Egypt both have very hot climates and limited rainfall, they needed a way to get water for their crops. In order for them to get water, they turned to the rivers near them as a source. The Tigris and Euphrates Rivers were Mesopotamia’s resource, while the Nile River was Egypt’s supply. Mesopotamia and Egypt didn’t use the river to just water their crops; they also used them as a source of transportation. Transportation through river was an important factor because it allowed quicker process for trade. Notifying Mesopotamia and Egypt’s climate and way of transportation is important because it shows how they cooped with the weather and how they moved from one place to another.

Since both Mesopotamia and Egypt are on different lands they have a lot of different ways of agriculture. Mesopotamia is bordered by mountains, deserts, and the Persian Gulf. It’s also located in between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. These rivers flood unpredictably into these lands which has a major affect on Mesopotamia’s agriculture. Unlike Mesopotamia, Egypt is near the world’s longest river, the Nile River. Most of Egypt is made up of deserts of mountains, rocks, and dunes. Unlike the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, the Nile River floods predictably which helps their agriculture. Since Mesopotamia’s rivers flood unpredictably it caused them to make canals and such to control it. Also, their dry climate caused them to have to develop an irrigation system.
