In analyzing any business you must be able to identify if this truly is a business opportunity. Is there a market out there for the product offered, and is there the necessary skills and technical ability on board to ensure that the expertise will provide a solid platform for the said venture. Other considerations are, what is the longevity of the product, how quickly will investors get a return on their money. Is the industry high risk, are their any hurdles to overcome such as legal concerns. All of these questions should be answered from the business plan, if it does not then this should raise concerns as the viability of the venture.

The opening pages should contain the Executive summary; this should provide the reader with enough information so that the he or she has a broad understanding of the whole report without actually having to read the full report. I believe that this business plan did. The executive summary for Omega was well executed as it was the pitch for the business and it did encourage me to read on. It explained in non technical terms what Omega was promoting, who they were and where they want to be.

The product is Accelerometers, which are seismic sensors. The executive summary explained what they are and what they do and how they differ from traditional accelerometers. The only criticism was there was a little more information than I felt necessary as this took up three pages and as a reader I would have preferred a shorter Executive summary around 1-2 pages. That said there were certain points that were highlighted and I as the reader was able to identify and understand what Omega were hoping to produce. I like the fact that there was a picture of a sensor as it helped give some perspective of the product.
