Assignment: Testing a Theory

I can remember when I was in high school I always had a hard time with remembering and retaining what we had gone over for the day. Because of my ADD it made it difficult for me when it came time for taking test and being able to pass them. So I went to my school counselor to discuss some options that might help me with being able to make better grades on my test and exams. She really gave me great tips on how to make the classes easier for myself and take some of the stress away. Another choice was for me to purchase a small tape recorder and use it during the classes that were the most difficult for me. This would give me the chance to actually take the recorder home and listen to the teacher at my own pace and write the more detailed notes that I would need to help me study.

However, by using the recorder to take notes in class with and then later going home to rewrite them was much faster and easier. I also found that I did better on the tests I had to take because I had the correct information to use to study with.

I honestly don’t think I would go back and change anything at all. I only wish I hadn’t of waited as long as I did to talk to my counselor for her advice. After trying the different methods mentioned and...
