With a new or existing business one of the most crucial elements in establishing a strategic plan is the SWOTT analysis. A SWOTT analysis is simply a tool that provides a general overview of a specific company’s health. A SWOTT analysis helps the management team of a business classify, identify, and prioritize, a company’s internal and external issues and aids with the decision making process. The purpose of this essay is to analyze seven of internal and external trends and forces based on the SWOTT analysis of School Spirit Athletics. This paper will address and describe how the business adapts to certain changes, and also analyze the operations of the supply chain. The paper will conclude by addressing the circumstances surrounding each internal and external issue by classifying the circumstances surrounding these issues, and attributing the significance of each classified issue.
“A SWOTT analysis is used in order to provide a business with ways to improve their knowledge in ways to not only obtain but also attain strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, perspectives, threats, business developments, and risks” (Wheelan & Hunger, 2004). In many ways a SWOTT analysis forces a business to take a hard honest look at themselves by conducting objective analysis of the organizations current position within the marketplace as well as its current position with its competitors. A SWOTT analysis is an effective way to identify a company’s weaknesses, strengths, and examine their threats and opportunities. A strength can be defined as something a business excels at compared to their competitors. A strength is considered to be something a business can build on and differentiate themselves from their competitors.
