Assignment 2-Conditioning

It seems quite odd to make a conditioning plan for a human being, but once I overlooked the text a second time after having read the assignment sheet, I noticed a section on “Other Conditioned Responses in Humans” where I noticed the section on nauseated drinkers and how causing them to become extremely sick every time they drink alcohol may actually stop them from drinking. Sad to say, it led me to want to “condition” my mother. As much as I love the woman, she has a few problems that I would do anything to change! For one, she moves far too often. I feel that I could maybe developed a conditioned emotion response from my mother, maybe by placing simple things that stimulate moving as a fearful thing. I couldn’t really think of a direct way to instill fear in her, but then again my mother is afraid of many things, so maybe I’ll fill all of her homes with bees! She hates bees. Of course I am kidding, and I will now move into a serious set of conditioning methods for my mom. I would most definitely use conditioned taste aversion for my mothers smoking and drinking problem. Every time she smoked a cigarette I would attempt to get really sick, although it may not be my mother getting sick, it would tie In with vicarious conditioning and hopefully my mother would become so afraid to smoke a cigarette due to its effects on me that she wouldn’t smoke a cigarette again! That would be the most effective way to teach my mother not smoke or hey, even drink anymore! I would attempt a direct way as scientists did lab rats and either inject her with something or expose her to radiation, but that would just be too dangerous! I think I will try the nice way by getting sick myself. It may seem odd, but someone has to do it right?
