Options for Implementing a Leadership Change
The course LDR/531 – Organizational Leadership, offered by University of Phoenix (UOP), incorporates learning teams into the curriculum. The teammates of Learning Team A (LTA) were presented with a scenario and charged with discussing leadership styles and the challenges of leadership change. Based on the scenario, team members were to select the best option for change. The purpose of this paper is to present the discussions of the team. Also included will be a discussion explaining why the leadership style of Starlla Schmitt would be effective and paired to the scenario’s organizational vision.
Gene One End Vision
The scenario presented by the course is based on an organization called Gene One (University of Phoenix, nd). The learning team did not discuss the issue of an end vision for the organization; however, Starlla Schmitt does have an opinion of an appropriate end vision for the organization. This end vision would be for the organization to affect people world-wide by creating new and high quality produce available in numerous varieties, while contributing a portion of the proceeds to the stakeholders and society needs.
With the proposed end vision, Gene One will show commitment to stakeholders and a caring attitude towards society. This end vision will also create an accepting audience when the organization is ready to go public. In addition, the vision will help set an example to other companies because of the financial responsibilities shown to stakeholders.
Challenges and Concerns
