What I Want to be When I Grow Up

As kids, we have all been asked what we want to be when we grow up. In fact, it’s the biggest question asked to children, from toddlers to teenagers. Our ideas are always changing, due to our interests and specialties as we grow. When I was little, I would always be inspired by whatever I saw. Whether it was a cop, firefighter, Cricket Superstar Sachin Tendulcar, a doctor, or even Batman, I always wanted to be them. Now that I’ve grown older, my thoughts have changed. The things that bewildered me in the past and are still making me curious till today are the mysteries of the universe. For example (Black holes, White holes, Wormholes, and extraterrestrial beings). Are they fantasy, or scientific facts? There are so many things yet to be explored in our vast Universe. To learn more about the Universe, I want to be an astrophysicist when I grow up.

Astrophysics does interest me, but it was initially my grandfather who influenced me to have these interests. My grandfather has a vast knowledge about physics and math. He taught me a lot of things which really interested me and made me curious. I have read many books and magazines over the years of astrophysics and the universe. One thing that has always interested me is black holes. The puzzling concept of them has always boggled my mind. I would always use to wonder what would happen to you and where you would go if you actually got sucked into one. Is it a passage way to another universe?

I bet that you have heard of astrophysics, but you probably don’t know what it exactly is. Astrophysics is a branch of astronomy that deals with the physics of stars, stellar phenomena, and interstellar material. Though this may seem a little complicated, in reality, it is not.
