we explain the concept of productivity differences between women and men and we establish the relationship between productivity and the gender wage gap which is the combination of gender, occupation, method of wage payment and hourly wages. We will examine the potential factors of productivity regarding the women’s position in labor market. The paper will present some definitions of the method of wage payment. In general, there are two systems of paying wage such as piece wage system and time wage system.

- Piece wage system : The wage under piece-rate contracts, the payment is paid on the basic of the amount of work done or output of a worker. One piece refers to one unit of output and wage per piece will get a specific rate. We can say that the more outputs workers can produce, the more payment they will get. It also called that the payment by results. There are some advantages by using this method such as it shows the relationship between effort and reward at the same time when worker work harder to increase productivity. This method also provides the ambitious and efficient workers with the opportunity to use their talent and increase their earnings that could increase their standard of living. Besides this, there are some benefits to employer, lower cost of production per unit and high higher outputs. In contrast, there are some disadvantages from this method such as it is difficult to fix the piece wage rates because the rate will reduce when the employers find the other workers can produce larger quantities. Moreover, the earning of each worker is changeable due to their temporary losing of efficiency.

- Time wage system : This method, wages are paid based on time spent by a worker on their job without relation to the amount of work done.
